Lead
There was a piece of lead.
And unhappily he said,
“My personality is really quite disordered.
For when I am good, I am very very good.
But when I am bad, I am horrid.
If you ever find you need
A radiation shield,
I’m the element to keep you safe and sound.
My density’s so great, I block all the harmful rays.
A better heavy metal can’t be found.
But watch out if I taint
Your water or your paint.
You don’t want lead in pipes or your faucet.
Have your water tested, because if I’m ingested,
You’ll find that I am horribly toxic.”
