Jack Sprat ate too much fat,
He gorged on too much cake.
Then one day poor Jack woke up with
A mighty stomach ache.

“Jack Sprat,” the doctor said,
“You’re sick and that’s a fact.
I need to take an X-ray of
Your whole digestive tract.”

“No Doc, I think you’re wrong,”
Jack Sprat said with a moan,
“I know X-rays are only good,
For pictures of a bone.”

“Not if you drink barium.
The taste is awful, but,
With barium, my X-rays get
A picture of your gut.”
